The CZECHOSLOVAKIAN WOLFDOG establishes a strong emotional bond with their owner, emotional bond  made of extreme loyalty and respect.

The attachment to the owner derives directly with a strong instinct HERD (typical of the lupus of their origins), which leads him to see in humans their leader.

The key thing for the owner  is to have a strong leadership quality, that must be understood as the ability to impose its authority (obviously, ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT ANY KIND OF PHYSICAL AND / OR PSYCHOLOGICAL VIOLENCE). This type of dogs need to have  constantly a reference point, that gives them very specific rules and that can correctly distinguish when it is time to perform a specific activity (for example the walk , they identify the classic migration of the herd from one territory to another , or exercise and mental learning).

So with this type of dog you require a lot of patience and you have to be assertive with the proper authority. The wolf must feel safe and know that his master is the herd leader. Otherwise it risks that the dog should make a takeover attempt hierarchical which can lead to unpleasant consequences. In particular , the CZECHOSLOVAKIAN WOLFDOG is a dog of medium - large size , so its management in the absence of authority of the owner becomes very difficult: the dog listening will be latent and the relationship will become very difficult and complicated.

Exercising the proper authorities  (combined with the fact that the CZECHOSLOVAKIAN WOLFDOG  is very attached to his pack leader), it can easily travel even to live in a house in harmony.

Always hold in high regard the CZECHOSLOVAKIAN WOLFSDOG needs much movement (walks, games research, racing, …).

The relationship with the children is very good, especially if the dog is used since puppy in contact with the children themselves. The CZECHOSLOVAKIAN WOLFDOG is an  ideal synthesis between German Shepherd and Wolf: the first in fact stands for a sense of attachment to the family, according to the protective instinct towards " puppies " of the herd.

Overall it is a dog by the great temperament, lively and very active and needs a lot of movement. Stubbornness, however, remains a base note present in the vast majority of cases.

However, being a race still young, some aspects of nature are highly variable from specimen to specimen.

Distinctive character:

Physically lively, very active and strong. Weather resistant.

Mentally it learns easily and very fast reactions.

Temperamentally fearless and courageous. It is very curious, just to suit the characteristics of intelligence and learning.

Suspicious but does not attack without a reason. If he attacks , it does so mainly because of sudden fear or aggression suffered by other dogs or by humans.

Particularly faithful to the owner.

The CZECHOSLOVAKIAN WOLFDOG is challenging, very intelligent, lively. Therefore it must be weighed seriously the choice to adopt one.

It is a sociable dog, determined and very communicative and as such honors instinctively be the herd (the human family). In the case where one is excluded it suffers a lot and consequently creates problems (trying in every way to be part of it).

In reference to its hierarchical position it is also his model behavior. It is determined, as it grows it seeks to ensure the best possible position in the herd. Our task is not to transgress beyond its position (because we are the herd leader).

The CZECHOSLOVAKIAN WOLFDOG was born as a working dog and research, then it has highly developed senses and a temper very strong.

Should be avoided as much as possible all those monotonous, repetitive and unnecessary.
